SOLD 1973 Amerigo FG-16 Travel Trailor - Twin Falls, Idaho

Hello, my grandfather asked me to help sell his 1973 Amerigo FG-16 Travel Trailor, but I probably don't know much more than he does. I'm hoping to find some estimates and the best place to find a buyer.

Twin Falls, Idaho

Some information I got from him:
  • Everything works since he last used it
  • Gas/Electric stove, fridge
  • Some water damage around windows
  • Mirror has crack where tape is in the picture
  • No bathroom or porta potty

1973 Amerigo FG-16 Travel Trailor - Twin Falls, Idaho

Welcome to the forum, Brody!

Looks pretty clean. Any leaks or water damage? Any musty smells? Does the door fit and seal tightly? What is the condition of tires, bearings, and axle? Most important, could you fire up all the appliances and demonstrate that they still work? The more you know about the trailer's condition, the better position you're in as a seller.

The best place to get some sense of recent sales and prices is the classified archive at www.fiberglass-rv-4sale.com. You may also find a few in the archives here. Amerigos are fairly uncommon, but I'm sure some will turn up. When comparing prices, consider not only condition, but also location and season.

You can post here, on the above-linked site, and on your local Craigslist.

On the other hand, are you sure this one isn't a keeper? Bet you could talk your grandfather into a family-only special! Has he had it since new?

You came to the right place to find a buyer. I will be in Nampa on June 9th and if you still have it I will come on down. Try to figure a price.

Hello! We've decided to shoot for $2000 for the trailer. I've posted an ad with contact info here.

Not that this trailer is without issues, (none of which I can see) but I think you have made a very good deal with this purchase. I really like the Amerigo trailers. The layout ROCKS!

Apparently Bob Miller missed this one.

Nope I didn't miss it. I was already planning a trip to Boise, ID, was in contact with the seller, and would have bought it had it still been available.

I call that missed. I know that you were aware of this, from your earlier post. If I see a $2000 trailer that I want to buy, I am in the car, but I have a problem.

If we hadn't already planned the Trip to Spokane for Antiques Roadshow, I may have left sooner, but an extra five day/ 2,500 mile trip, that would have cost about $800, dampened some of my fervor..

But I did stop by and spend time with peeps in Boise, ID, that have just about finished the frame-off restoration of a Surfside that should appear on eBay by the end of the month. It will set a new standard.

As I have learned, there will be another Amerigo, but tickets to Antiques Roadshow are much more difficult to come by.
