We have a 1978 Trillium 4500. The front door hinge has a screw that is rusted. To remove the top screw the hinge pin head is in the way-can The hinge pin be tapped out so we can remove the screw
It is possible to tap out the pin, but you run the risk of cracking to cast metal hinge. The method I've used for removing the top screw is to remove all of the other screws first, then back out the top screw together with the entire hinge. Once you've pulled the hinge away from the trailer body, you should be able to angle out the top screw.
thanks John
I hate to remove all the screws when only the top one needs replacement-I previously replaced the other two and hate to break the tight fit I got from using an epoxy putty

The hinge pin is splined just below the head. Some penetrating oil might help. Just in case, the hinge is a Kason 139 freezer hinge with a 3/8" offset. McMaster Carr sold them at one time. Part no. 1276A52
