Cover For Eggcamper

For Eggcamper owners looking for a cover cpaharley recommended the deluxe cover from elitemotoronline for $139.95 plus shipping. He said the cover designed for the 16' Scamp fit his Eggcamper "like a glove." I wish I had followed his advice - instead I ordered the deluxe cover designed for the 17' Casita. Anyway, the cover was way too long for my Eggcamper, it touched the ground almost all the way around. I was afraid of ants crawling up the cover and into the camper, or other critters making a home out of the sheltered space under the camper.

My wonderful wife said she could hem it up, and after about three hours of work we marked, she sewed, and I put grommets in the cover so that it now fits beautifully! So, for you Eggcamper owners looking for a cover, I recommend you stick to cpaharley's recommendation and get the cover for the 16' Scamp.

Ray,

With an EggCamper wider and taller than a 17ft. Casita, Why do you think the cover was so big? "Inquiring minds want to know".

The only thing I can come up with is the cover was made to fit a Casita with an AC on top, so they made it extra long for that. I don't know how the external height of the Casita compares with the Eggcamper, could it be taller anyway? The Eggcamper does seem to sit low, we don't even have to use a step to enter it, (although we sometimes do use a small portable step, especially if we have visitors who might not be as "athletic" as we are).

Ray,
The smaller cover comes down to bottom edge on both Egg sides and I run a bungee strap underneath. It looks like it was made for it. It covers 100%- I did remove the spare tire and bracket so it covered the front and back down to the edge. Also there are only 2 straps- to tighten- front and rear. Yours looks like 4 straps? Also yours covers your tongue, the smaller one just covers the trailer.

There were three straps under mine, when we cut it back we replaced them with six grommets on each side. It still covers both the spare tire and the complete tongue.

Mine was bought on Ebay-'Elite' was in the name, under $200 and was a nice cover. Also, as mentioned above, get the smaller one...

Thanks Jim!

There are two so I will try and give an ebay link here....if you dont mind....

https://www.ebay.com/itm/Scamp-16-Ca...item2a5c4c6a89

and the "Deluxe" one here

https://www.ebay.com/itm/Deluxe-Scam...item238e8295f5

Perhaps the only difference is the zipper door and not the size?

Thank you!

Question:

It is hot and humid in the eastern region of the country, but I would like to put the cover on my 16' Casita with the windows open. Is that a good idea? or should I close them?
Thanks so much, from a newby.

5 years later, this cover is still a great recommendation. So glad I found this thread!

eBay seller: "elitemotoronline" and the description "Deluxe Scamp 16 Model Travel Trailer Camper Cover w/ zipper Door Access" fit my Egg Camper quite well. The zipper is great for getting in and out between trips.
