Sandy and Kim introduce The Argo - 2006 EggCamper

Hi all,

It's official. The 2006 EggCamper (build sequence 035) is now in our driveway.
Traveled through Ga and North FL - lots of back roads initially but eventually on I-75 for last stretch.

Towed fine in conditions including storms, passed by Semis etc. Sits low to ground but no damage done despite dragging the tail once

Our TV is a 2013 Nissan Frontier 4 cylinder - although within the tow limits our set-up is under-powered on hills. Our area of SouthEast is mostly flat so we are OK.

Now the fun begins...

Looks great! Congratulations. Yeah that little truck will struggle, but so long as you’re sure you’re within the tow limit and payload limit, you’ll be fine.

Seems like at some point they’ll start making these just a little taller so we don’t need to modify them, like a lot of stick built trailers are starting to do, but oh well.

EggCamper with roof AC?

Hi and Welcome Sandy & Kim!
We also have an EggCamper(#114). I was interested in the photo that you have a roof mounted AC unit. Our low mounted room AC unit that came installed in our new camper doesn't cool the camper very well and I have always wanted a roof mount one. Wondering if you or anyone else has experience putting in a roof unit where there wasn't one originally. The EggCampers have the standup seam running along the roof so not sure it can be done without compromising the strength of the roof...
Anyway, glad to see another happy EggCamper owner!

Hi Lisa,

The AC mod was done by PO. The roof was reinforced and not seeing signs of structural stress or leaks. There was another inquiry about AC so I plan to take pictures as soon as I'm cleared to use ladder. Hoping Labor Day weekend.

G.C. mentioned they just put a directional vent on their EggCamper floor AC and that helped cooling enough that no further mod was needed. I think specifics are on the thread "New EggCampers First hand Info"

Nice to meet you and thanks for the welcome.

Sandy
