1973 Amerigo

My wife and I purchased this trailer this summer.
It is in excellent original condition.
My question being, would you leave it original, or updates it. We have strong feelings both ways.
Thanks.

Change it to what ever way makes it work better for you Toby. LED interior lights are one of the best changes. Personally, I see zero reason to keep any of the FG TTs original unless it's going in a museum . Many members have highly modified the interiors including a total layout change but they still look original from the outside. Post pics as you go and share them with us .

x3. Make it suit your needs.

A modern power converter with a smart charger such as a PD 4045 would be something good to consider. The original power supply in my 72 amerigo seemed to be working fine, then I checked the output voltage & it was running 18.7 volts......

That is in great shape! You're in the enviable position of being able to use it now & do upgrades as you feel they are needed.
Congrats on your purchase!

It's always hard to tell in photos but that looks really nice. You could go either way with it.

If you wanted to save time and money and just use for awhile while you decide what to do with it, then I'd go with some of the earlier advice: LED lights, new power center, make sure everything works and is in good shape. Does it have a water pump? Making sure the electric and gas system is in good functioning shape is the first thing. Along with tires and wheel bearings.

For me, I get the LEDs that are as warm as possible. I can't stand that harsh, sterile blue light (not good for you either), but I think older folks like the cooler light of LEDs since it helps them see better. Personally I get the LEDs that give off light as close as possible to incandescent bulbs.

Have fun!
