Project "for" the scamp complete
Finally, completed my big scamp project, although it was not really done "to" the scamp, but for the scamp. First time doing any of this and I think it turned out pretty good. I wish I could have done a carport, but the height of my garage would have made that very difficult, so for now it is just a cover and a ratcheting cargo bar for snow load protection.
Having a house is already a way to spend a lot of time doing improvements, I have found having a camper is just another mini house lol.

Thanks for the kind words , it was a lot harder than i expected to be honest. Setting the posts wasn't too bad, we went 4 feet down and put in footings, rebar and aluminum beams inside fence posts. The pad was much harder, we took out tons of dirt to get 8" down and we put about 13,000 lbs of gravel down for the pad. All we had to work with were a couple of shovels and a post hole digger.
I think it was worth it, learning experience and final product came out as well as I hoped.

Looks good! Nice to have a good spot to park the Scamp close to home. We had to extend our driveway a few years ago into a hill, but also used gravel as the base.

It is definitely nice to have it close by, it is in storage right now that is 15 min away and i miss being able to pop into the scamp to measure something or look at something when an idea pops into my head.
I am currently looking for a tent or something similar for the scamp as well, however, it is pretty difficult to find one that is 8-8.5' wide, seems like they are all either 6' or 10-12' wide when you need 9' height.

The space is about 8.5' wide, it narrows down where the gates are, wish i had some more space honestly, but i had to work with what was there.

Hello John, nice to see someone on here I've met , especially from so far away ! And to find out there aren't two of you. ! And hello everyone, I installed a pole canopy with a nice fabric cover next to my garage. But because of the fence, the opening is 10' wide in the front, 20 ' long , but only 8 ' wide at the back. So with a piece of paper, some math, and some guesswork I cut the frame down, narrowing it about 1 ' in the center and 2 ' in the back. The fabric hung down father in the back , as do the 10 ' x 20 ' tarps I have used later, but fits fairly well. The frame has lasted about 6-7 years, silver tarps last about 1 or 2 years in California sun ! John ( David ) did we meet in Quartzsite ? Happy Trails to all ! David in Fresno and Sonora, CA

Yes, we met at Quartzsite. Hoped to go back the last 2 years but things came up that kept us in the SouthEast instead.
Maybe next year because there is so much exploring we want to do in Arizona.
I still have the original white vinyl cover on mine, but Sam's club had a silver one on sale that I ordered and it's ready to put on once the original white one fades away.
