ventura 400B Hub Bearings

I am rebulding a Monarch leisure products Venture 1986, I am confused with the bearing assembly their is not a bearing next to the hub on either wheel but everything else appears normal is this some sort of pressure fit for the inner race it is stainless and very smooth no sign of wear or tear in the bearing dept of the axle ? thereisalso a complete set of brakes on the trailer which have not been in use for years!

Hi Bill, welcome to the forum! Does your Ventura have a torsion axle. It might help if you post a couple of pics of your hub bearings. Also would be nice to see pics of your Ventura!

it is a torsion axle, I have to pull it apart again to get pictures of the assembly< but from the outside of the wheel there is a cotter pin , a nut , a washer a roller bearing then a cone then a grease seal. all were in good shape no grindings or loose bearings and it assembles tight1 also their is drums and brakes on the trailer that havent been active in years,(i am just leaving them alone) any info would be appreciated!

If I'm imagining your setup, I think the inner bearing is still inside the hub you took off.

Take a peek at the diagram at this location:
https://www.familyhandyman.com/proje...heel-bearings/

The seal stays pressed into the hub, so the inner race, inner bearing and seal all stay "stuck" to the hub when you remove it.

See "Step 5" to remove the inner (Rear) bearing, race and seal.

"Step 5" hammering on the bearing to get the seal out is only done by those that don't have and won't buy a seal puller to do it the right way.

That describes me for the last 50 years and 20 bearing replacements.
