Wanting to sell our 2011 Trillium Outback

Hi

Sadly, it is time to part ways with our 13' Trillium Outback trailer.

I am wondering what a reasonable price would be in the current market.

It is a 2011 and in great condition.

Options include:

- Awning
- Front Dinette And Bed Combo
- Entry Door Window Slider With Blind & Valance
- Swing Up Front Bunk Bed with rail
- Fantastic Fan
- Dual 6v Batteries with Boxes & Cables
- Electric Brake Package
- Solar Panel
- Spare Tire
- Dolly wheel
- Interior and Exterior LED Package
- Fridge, stove, sink with water tank, closet, extra 110 outlets
- Gas heater (electric blower)

I am in Vancouver, BC, Canada.

New would come in at $28,619. Any idea of what I should list her at?

Thank you

The current market is hard to read, honestly. Prices spiked last year and have been easing down this year. Listings are up, but I haven't turned up a single post-COVID Trillium Outback comp. Small molded trailers are popular in your region, but we're coming to the end of the current season, it's 11 years old, and inflationary pressures are making people more cautious about major purchases. It is no longer a clear seller's market.

Off-hand- and I'm throwing this out for discussion, not as a definitive answer- I'd suggest perhaps something a little under $20KCAD if you're looking for a quicker sale. You might get a few thousand more if you detail it well, get it spotless on the inside and shiny outside, take professional quality pictures, market it widely, and wait for a motivated buyer. How much time and effort are you willing to put into the sale?

It'd be better to hear from someone closer to, and more in tune with, you local market conditions.

Hi Paul,

I live about 5hrs down the street from you in Enderby, where my 2016 Armadillo (also 13’) was originally built.

First, I’m very interested in what you find for responses here (and very interested in Jon’s take on it) as well as what you finally do/get.

I’m not at all interested in selling, but I would price my Armadillo at around $25kCAN. New prices on Armadillo’s start at $35k. I’m surprised that the Trillium starts that much lower. Is that one of the ones built near/in Calgary?

Your option list is very close to my own. Just remember that we live in a niche market and as such, you need to sell into it; don’t try to sell/compete with ads/people trying to sell their 30 foot +/- sticky’s!! I suspect you will do well. I’m sure you’ve noticed that 35-40 yr old Bolers requiring lots of TLC go regularly for $10k +. Yours is a premium unit; if you can afford time, don’t undersell!

Good luck!

If the waitlist for Outback is long and yours is in good condition, I’d say list it for $28k or close to it. What will sell your camper is somebody who wants one at this moment. In this inflationary and demand outstrip supply world, something’s market value is not determined by its true value, it is determined by the scarcity. Don’t undersell yourself unless you don’t mind having seller remorse.
