Modern replacement for Trillium door latch?

New Trillium 1300 owner. Haven't even brought it home yet .Likely a 1979/1980.
I will need to replace the door latch/lock/handle. Have been reading how to repair the existing one. But I'm wondering if there is a new latch & handle system that I can use instead?

There is no replacement that would not require fibreglass work.

I know that there was one for the L400 latch as well. It involved using a metal plate to fill the gap from the longer lock. I just can't find it.

Personally, I would use fibreglass to close up the hole.
